It has been an eventful week for this one. The blog has taken a back seat to more immediate needs. Sorry about that.
Friday Pastor and I spent a few hours in a neighboring town. They also had some tornado damage. We didn’t do a great deal of anything other than touch people verbally. Maybe it helped, maybe not.
While we were free of other people we caught up on events in our lives over the past few months.
Pastors newest kick is Rescue. When he introduced the subject I thought he was talking animals, but he was talking people. It appears that Wichita is the fifth highest in kidnappings nation wide. Getting those kids back is near to his heart.
He told me that twenty-five percent of the kids taken from Wichita are found in Western Kansas.
Which shocked me, I’m here to tell you. I lost track of the conversation or a time thinking over the things I knew of Western Kansas.
Some of my concerns were eliminated as Pastor continued the tale. It seems that as sthe police grip the drug nexus’ harder, the drug folks change from drug running to kidnapping. And slavery.
Other things the man is working on are visits to the local jails and bible studies cclasses. He is working on the state facilities in El Dorado.
That type of work is his calling, I think. I’m not sure his type o doctoring to well people is really what he wants to do. It’s the sick he wants to deal with.
It’s the well church goers that support the Pastors do-gooder impulses.
