Fall River boy, 11, killed in ATV crash

Today’s story hasn’t a thing to do with that accident. Except to say, those ATV’s are some sort of dangerous.

I would like to report that near neighbor’s brother is maybe, I think it was him, I’m not sure but I thought I saw him in the village again, although maybe they still have him in jail, you know?

In case you are wondering what the hell I’m talking about, umm, so am I.

I was over to the west neighbor yesterday. we were talking broom weed and fertilizers for fescue, when the talk turned to fencing, which brought this neighbor to the story of an unusual event, more correctly, a series of events that required the Sheriff’s Deputies to tell this neighbor there wasn’t enough evidence to do much but they would make a report.

Seems that this neighbors neighbor called him one day a week past and informed him he, the neighbors neighbor was sorry that his cattle had gone through the fence and were in his bean field.

Well, sir, this neighbor said he’d come along in due course to help get those cow’s off his beans and he’d help fix the fence; needing, this neighbor told me, he had toget to the Co-Op before it closed for the weekend.

So he did that. And when he got out to the bean field he and his neighbor determined that the ence had been cut. Clean and neatly cut, right in the middle between topoles. He got to looking around and saw a couple of ATV tire marks, he said, and his neighbor said that he’d seen a couple of guys on ATV’s  out in his neighbors pasture and hadn’t thought much about it.

So they fixed the fence and went their own ways.

On the way home my west neighbor noticed something red out in his pasture but he had other business (his wife is hurting and off work because of it), so he continued on home. When he got there the phone rang and it was his neighbor he’d just left.

His neighbor said he’d got to checking about and found four wheeler tracks in his yard. He said his property was intact, except, he said, that two cans of gas from his machine shed, near his ATV’s.

My neighbor checked decided to check his out buildings the next day and on his way he saw that red thing in the pasture again and went to check it.

It was a gas can.

At that point he called the sheriff and reported sasquatch riding an ATV. The sheriff sent a deputy and together they checked out tracks and reached no sightings.

Getting home again, west neighbor got a call from another neighbor plus one west of his place. Seems HIS neighbors cattle were on his grass and he’d found the fence had been cut.

They got together and called the deputy back out and they all got on ATV’s and started out.

They found that the fence had been cut on a number of fences, and drawing the locations on the ground, figured out that the cut fences allowed the ATV fence cuter to travel across two complete sections of land with two or three spur cuts on outside fences allowing access to the main highway, and our different county roads.

My west neighbor said that he wasn’t sure, mind, but he thought he’d seen my near neighbors brother in the village the day and he suspected it might have been him that cut those fences.

I remarked that the brother had tried too out run the deputies back before getting thrown in jail, and had gone down the area where the fences had been cut before getting caught.

My west neighbor shrugged and said, well he thought it might have been  the brother down in the village.

I said I might have to ask Renter if he’d heard the near neighbor had  gotten out on bail or something.

I did notice yesterday on the way home that near neighbor had a FOR SALE sign on his property. The price of bail is probably getting excessive.
