The State Legislature got a bill passed that the governor accepted for school funding. A bone of contention for several months and the subject of a special session. Of course it involved using State funds, but is touted as saving money – they’re saying that is a We the taxpayer will see lower taxes.
Which, given the State is a tax supported entity, I find rather doubtful. The Courts now have to pass judgment.
And after all my fretting about the next Sheriff, the county has gone and appointed someone. Not just someone. They have appointed, as interim, the son of the Sheriff kiilled in a drug raid some time back.
That one came out of the blue for the average citizen not in the know.
Now we’ll have to wait on the sidelines and watch to see if the promise came down a generation. He’ll still have to meet the test of the election in November, but he will have the testing period that other candidate lack.
