AUGUSTA, Kan. (KAKE) — Two people were shot at a high school graduation ceremony in Augusta.
First responders were called to the high school as the ceremony was scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. at Hillier Stadium. Augusta Police Chief Tyler Brewer said someone with a concealed carry permit had a gun in his sock; when he adjusted it, the gun discharged.
A second person was wounded when the bullet bounced off the ground.
I’ll be having cancer surgery Tuesday. I’ll probably skip the day writing – unless the local procedure proves more mild than I anticipate.
