Two headlines this morning:

Police: Body found in field may be missing Wichita 2-year-old (+video)

Reason why Amber Alert wasn’t issued for Jhornee Bland

The second was my question also when the news briefly carried the missing message. Now the hard work starts.

On the home  place news. I’ll be getting calves Thursday. It seems that the auction house is moaning about business (they don’t really moan over there. They just note that the auction started at noon and was over by two-thirty.). Just nothing to sell. The beef market is very low and the ranchers are waiting to sell in hopes the price goes up.

I kidded Renter about selling his bull calves at the high point and he smugly agreed he’d done well. That kinda falls in the category of asking a farmer how the harvest was and he’ll answer that it was pretty good; he got thirty – five bushel an acre.

Which is a low ball answer when one sees the twinkle in his eye that he is getting sixty bushel and acre. :Course, it was none of my business in the first place and a polite enough answer to satisfy both of us.

I was tickled this morning by Fox and Friends releasing the latest polling with Trump and the Frump tied in three states, especially after listening for the past six months to them claiming and exclaiming that Trump could not beat the Frump in a general election and why waste time worrying about the matter of electing him in the primaries.

The Donald claimed he could beat her.

Better him than her. Better the unknown quality than the sure fire liar, cheat and theft of a practiced politician.

About tenwhiskey

User tenwhiskey is also the author of this blog. He currently lives in small town Kansas in a semi-retired condition. His kids are married and gone (thank you). An empty nester. Divorced. Very happy with life as it is. Ten Mile maintains a personal blog here, writing of events as they appear to him; commentary, and opinions abound. He deviates into fiction as the mood strikes and creates flash fiction stories and short stories. He will not warn the reader when he drifts from fact to fiction. He feels adults are, generally, smart enough to figure out which is which. He does, however, attempt to make his fiction sound as true to life as possible. You have been warned. He, as time permits, writes and occasionally sells writing. More often than not he gives it away to various non-paying publishers of Ether Magazines, forums or for entertainment on a wall for in need of a hand friends. He likes candy, pies and a certain amount of strife. In the matter of strife - in his yourth on the farm, he became embroiled in a slinging fight. The fight involved lath as a launcher, fresh cow patties as ammo and it was a six way free for all. A little mud only adds (Umm?) a certain taste to life.
