I haven’t been interested in the Derby this year. Matter of fact, I haven’t a clue as to which horses are running.
So, watching the news this morning, my mind was jogged and I Googled the Derby line-up. I looked at the line-up and the post positions and the odds and selected three horses.
Having made my selections I thought I’d post them here –just for fun, you understand, and I opened this page in my Writer and then . . .
Well, I got to thinking I hadn’t really checked WHICH race I’d gotten the names from. I mean, maybe the Derby, maybe one of the other races, maybe, even a race from the distant past or maybe, even, the future.
So. I have the names of three horses, with post positions, and the odds.
1. Exaggerator 8 – 1 Favorable pole stall.
2. Nyquist 3 – 1 Not a good pole stall
3. Gun Runner 10 – 1 A not bad pole stall and who can resist that name
Before you condemn me for wagering no money what-so-ever on a horse race IIhave no interest in, remember I have been known to wager on football teams based on their uniform colors.
When Kansas had dog racing and quarter horse racing ( I live very near a quarter horse track ) I’d wager on them based on the same principle.
I don’t remember winning a great deal.
