Health officials say smoke from the burns can cause air quality impacts when meteorological conditions do not provide for adequate dispersion of the pollutants.

Windy is what we want – which is what spreads the fires out of control.

Two got away from the ranchers yesterday.

I made a remark the other day that we couldn’t see Peebles Hill. It was windy that day and the hill is about a mile and a half away.

The past day and a half the internet has been out. I was up around two-thirty this morning and it was out; again around six and it was out. Happy to have it back.

Folks take a hand written note very seriously. I dropped a line to a Dr. telling her the word she spoke to me had been acted upon and her words were true. She called me to thank me for the note.

The power of the written word. She is a good person and seldom less than outright positive – like a news anchor; smiles no matter the bad news.

I’m conquering the low notes. It has taken awhile and the six pack top muscle aches a bit. I’ll probably end with that round belly one sees in woodwind players around the world.

Heh.

Who’d have thought I’m like all others?

About tenwhiskey

User tenwhiskey is also the author of this blog. He currently lives in small town Kansas in a semi-retired condition. His kids are married and gone (thank you). An empty nester. Divorced. Very happy with life as it is. Ten Mile maintains a personal blog here, writing of events as they appear to him; commentary, and opinions abound. He deviates into fiction as the mood strikes and creates flash fiction stories and short stories. He will not warn the reader when he drifts from fact to fiction. He feels adults are, generally, smart enough to figure out which is which. He does, however, attempt to make his fiction sound as true to life as possible. You have been warned. He, as time permits, writes and occasionally sells writing. More often than not he gives it away to various non-paying publishers of Ether Magazines, forums or for entertainment on a wall for in need of a hand friends. He likes candy, pies and a certain amount of strife. In the matter of strife - in his yourth on the farm, he became embroiled in a slinging fight. The fight involved lath as a launcher, fresh cow patties as ammo and it was a six way free for all. A little mud only adds (Umm?) a certain taste to life.
