Some time ago I pointed out that the Post Office was delivering packages that the UPS usually delivered.

I indicated that the Postal Service and UPS, since they used the same planes to fly packages about, had agreed to deliver packages for one another. I was not sure then, and am not convinced now, that this was a good idea.

However, stamps have seen their first price reduction in 100 years.

The elephants are part of 17 being moved from drought-stricken Swaziland to zoos in Wichita, Omaha and Dallas. The elephants will arrive sometime Friday.

Sedgwick County Zoo workers won’t say exactly when the elephants will arrive but, they will eventually be housed in a new elephant exhibit.

The Wichita Zoo has been in the thorough building a new elephant area for several yearsand has recently seen the demise of its elephants. Renewal is at hand.

I have made a determination to purchase the Braun 9 series sonic razor. It arrives Friday, via UPS.

As do the elephants for the zoo.Elephants have been in the courts lately, having won their right to immigrate to the US.

That took government intervention and participation. The Postal Service is a quasi-governmental business, working with UPS and airplanes.

When my package arrives this afternoon, I hope it is small and carryable, and not an elephant SNAFU by the government.

I really cannot afford to feed an elephant.

Nor shave with one.

About tenwhiskey

User tenwhiskey is also the author of this blog. He currently lives in small town Kansas in a semi-retired condition. His kids are married and gone (thank you). An empty nester. Divorced. Very happy with life as it is. Ten Mile maintains a personal blog here, writing of events as they appear to him; commentary, and opinions abound. He deviates into fiction as the mood strikes and creates flash fiction stories and short stories. He will not warn the reader when he drifts from fact to fiction. He feels adults are, generally, smart enough to figure out which is which. He does, however, attempt to make his fiction sound as true to life as possible. You have been warned. He, as time permits, writes and occasionally sells writing. More often than not he gives it away to various non-paying publishers of Ether Magazines, forums or for entertainment on a wall for in need of a hand friends. He likes candy, pies and a certain amount of strife. In the matter of strife - in his yourth on the farm, he became embroiled in a slinging fight. The fight involved lath as a launcher, fresh cow patties as ammo and it was a six way free for all. A little mud only adds (Umm?) a certain taste to life.
