For starters, it is coming on spring and stuff is beginning to poke over the horizon.
The Daffodills by the front walk are six inches high and will probably bud in a few days. The Elms are buding. The Walnut trees, those sluggards, show nothing but shed sticks and clutter the dogs run. The cool weather grasses are three inches high and green, the fescue is in that deciding stage of yellow.
I’ve seen no Snow Bird Travelling Homes yet. I have seen a number of motor cycles – I think you have to be demented to ride motorcycles in the first place and totally bonkers to ride them in the winter. Hardy folks them.
I say all of this to point out that the local news is full of social events related to spring. March is to be a Hare. Garden shows here, there and everywhere. There is to be a wedding at . . Well, just follow the directions (and it is the directions I’m grinning about. That’s old school directions, for sure):
