Windy, dry. Temps climbing, setting records.
Burning bans are posted in several counties, trains have set spark fires along the tracks. Fortunately the fires have been close to response units and stomped out before too long.
It appears to be another hot and dry year.

I seem, contrary to the oft expressed opinion “If you remember the sixties you weren’t there.”, to remember that time period. It weren’t pretty.
The Eaton Hotel faced, not long ago, total extinction. It was a seedy place. Of course, I didn’t see Wichita until the seventies, so cannot speak for former times.
Renovation of the Historic Eaton Hotel in Downtown Wichita for those with a momentary interest. The whole of the then center of the town has been changed. About twenty years back most of the central area was condemned and the businesses moved to the Northwest of town.
Quit a lot of history in that area. This is the season for the Riverfest, or will be soon. The planning is well underway and press releases are appearing.
