Watch the debate?

Trump spoke like a Democrat last night. Weird. Well, not really. He has been one for most of his life. So he remains an enigma to me.

I’ve often thought he was just playing at politics, filling his retirement time, you know. Then arrived at the idea he is gaming. Expensive game, to be sure, but just amusing himself. Now? I’m not sure. Maybe he was rejected by the Democratic  National body and decided to run as a Republican just to show the PARTY he would be viable over their “next in line” candidate.

I’ll wait another month before deciding. My State is a caucus state.

Wichita earthquake inspectors search for damage

WICHITA — A 5.1 earthquake in northern Oklahoma rattled much of Kansas Saturday morning. The quake hit just after 11:00 a.m. northwest of Fairview.

It didn’t rattle my area –  again. All those quakes down that way haven’t. The oddity about that is many time the vibrations set up by some of the trucks up on the highway can be felt in the soles of ones feet here at the house.

That’s about a mile and a half.

Still no rain or even snow. I don’t mind that so much, it is just that the creek is dry and we have a village lake for water. But, darn, one should worry about surface water for drinking and give some though to subsurface stuff for reserve.

Renter came over for a three monthly ‘visit’. He bragged about the geese he’d bagged. Him and Pastor. They used lay down blinds out on the approach path for returning geese. The geese feed to the East of that area and return around true sun-up. The pair limited out over two days.

Renter said that the geese, now that his father has died and his mom has sold off all the domestic geese, no longer come to his home place ponds and he has to aske permission of a near by rancher to use the cattle sky ponds.

Those ponds are pretty isolated and not visible from the roads. I might get a bag of dried goose meat in a couple of weeks. I put in a beggars request.

The last batch of home dried stuff was pretty good, actually. The rub he used was tasty without being overly spicy.

About tenwhiskey

User tenwhiskey is also the author of this blog. He currently lives in small town Kansas in a semi-retired condition. His kids are married and gone (thank you). An empty nester. Divorced. Very happy with life as it is. Ten Mile maintains a personal blog here, writing of events as they appear to him; commentary, and opinions abound. He deviates into fiction as the mood strikes and creates flash fiction stories and short stories. He will not warn the reader when he drifts from fact to fiction. He feels adults are, generally, smart enough to figure out which is which. He does, however, attempt to make his fiction sound as true to life as possible. You have been warned. He, as time permits, writes and occasionally sells writing. More often than not he gives it away to various non-paying publishers of Ether Magazines, forums or for entertainment on a wall for in need of a hand friends. He likes candy, pies and a certain amount of strife. In the matter of strife - in his yourth on the farm, he became embroiled in a slinging fight. The fight involved lath as a launcher, fresh cow patties as ammo and it was a six way free for all. A little mud only adds (Umm?) a certain taste to life.
