One would have thought that missing one of sixteen debates wouldn’t have hurt a contender. Trump proved that it not only could, but did.

I haven’t found it feasible to trust Cruz yet, nor Rubio. And sometimes question Trump’s dedication to the cause. It is going to be a long season, however, and if Trump stays the course, November will come soon enough.

The recent up heave in the stock market has raised the idea, once again, that the economy is not recovering well, if at all.

With those fears peaking around corners and over back fences, I note with reproving interest the following two articles:

City of Lindsborg forgives Bethany College of debt

KWCH

Bethany College owes more than $100,000 to the city of Lindsborg. Because of financial issues like that, the school was put on probation over the summer by the Higher Learning Commission.

A bastion of credit and deficit teachings pleading forgiveness. A precursor to the bridge to free education, where every professor and teacher and gardener is a government employee.

Speedy Cash lays off workers in Wichita

KAKE

WICHITA, Kan– Payday lender Speedy Cash blames the coming slow tax refund season and regulatory challenges for layoffs at its corporate office and U.S.

Now that one really bothers me. The kneecappers business firing people – whoa, the economy is really bad when they can’t loan money at usury rates and keep the business open.

About tenwhiskey

User tenwhiskey is also the author of this blog. He currently lives in small town Kansas in a semi-retired condition. His kids are married and gone (thank you). An empty nester. Divorced. Very happy with life as it is. Ten Mile maintains a personal blog here, writing of events as they appear to him; commentary, and opinions abound. He deviates into fiction as the mood strikes and creates flash fiction stories and short stories. He will not warn the reader when he drifts from fact to fiction. He feels adults are, generally, smart enough to figure out which is which. He does, however, attempt to make his fiction sound as true to life as possible. You have been warned. He, as time permits, writes and occasionally sells writing. More often than not he gives it away to various non-paying publishers of Ether Magazines, forums or for entertainment on a wall for in need of a hand friends. He likes candy, pies and a certain amount of strife. In the matter of strife - in his yourth on the farm, he became embroiled in a slinging fight. The fight involved lath as a launcher, fresh cow patties as ammo and it was a six way free for all. A little mud only adds (Umm?) a certain taste to life.
