The day after the GREAT debate without Trump.

The sun came up. The Pundits say that Trump: is still number one; and he hurt his chances in Iowa.

I have noticed that the FNC announcers use words that cast negative shadows on Trump – by saying things like Trump throws his scuds at opponents; and that Trumps opponents cast Cruz Missiles at Trump.

So much for fair and balanced; and so much for dispassionate reporting. Way back, to I don’t remember when, the term used by politicians was Fourth Estate.

If one wished to be President one must satisfy the Military, the Government Workers, the Voters and the Press.

Way back when is now and things haven’t changed.

What has changed is the way of life out in the grass lands and the cities. Here’s one that hasn’’t changed foor the best:

WPD: Human trafficking up in Wichita; national data shows decrease statewide

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) – “The more I learn about it the more disturbed I am,” said Lt. Travis Rakestraw with the Wichita Police Department.

I’m not sure if closing the borders will change the headlines much. Most of the trafficing seems to be in the young. The very young, and if the kids can be disappeared there isn’t a real clue as to where these kids can be going.

On my local scene; the County Commissioners are discussing pay raises for the Sheriff and deputies, The theater that has been closed for twenty years is looking to re-open, and Kansas is considering re-opening Horse races (actually the word used was RACING).

We had a thriving business in Greyhound racing until the do-gooders discovered the crematoriums were a standard part of a dog track and that the dogs that lost a race were co-signed to there, immediately.

You’ll notice two things: I’m a dog lover and I didn’t express an opinion.

About tenwhiskey

User tenwhiskey is also the author of this blog. He currently lives in small town Kansas in a semi-retired condition. His kids are married and gone (thank you). An empty nester. Divorced. Very happy with life as it is. Ten Mile maintains a personal blog here, writing of events as they appear to him; commentary, and opinions abound. He deviates into fiction as the mood strikes and creates flash fiction stories and short stories. He will not warn the reader when he drifts from fact to fiction. He feels adults are, generally, smart enough to figure out which is which. He does, however, attempt to make his fiction sound as true to life as possible. You have been warned. He, as time permits, writes and occasionally sells writing. More often than not he gives it away to various non-paying publishers of Ether Magazines, forums or for entertainment on a wall for in need of a hand friends. He likes candy, pies and a certain amount of strife. In the matter of strife - in his yourth on the farm, he became embroiled in a slinging fight. The fight involved lath as a launcher, fresh cow patties as ammo and it was a six way free for all. A little mud only adds (Umm?) a certain taste to life.
