The second commercial business in Wichita has received permission to operate Drones on a commercial basis.
Westar says it plans to use drones to capture still images, video and other data to be used for inspection of utility infrastructure. The company says this allows employees to conduct inspections without being in proximity to high-voltage equipment or to use hazards of working heights.
Westar says the use of drones will also “facilitate the safe inspection of hard-to-access or environmentally-sensitive areas without the use of bucket trucks, (a) helicopter or other utility vehicles.”
Westar Energy is the power company. That is miles and miles of power lines to patrol – and several fixed wing and rotor wing pilots will be looking for work.
The best scenario would be the pilots being re – trained into the couch in a warm building and stop worrying about weather and expensive airframes.
Sad, so sad.
Trump and Kelly are miffing. FNC seems to be doing its damnedest to spin the situation toward downing Trump.
The qualifier, of course, is FNC coming off their “Fair and Balanced” claims and start admitting they spin the news with personal opinion – like most journalists.
Some time in the distant future some judge somewhere will make a journalist illegal spinning crap to his personal opinion and maybe, just maybe, the reporters will stop trying to influence news and sound bites with just the facts as the subject states them and leave ego out of it.
Folks don’t really need a nose ring to see.
Leave folks like me to express our opinions all we wish. Opinions from low information voters are all we have. I mean, We’re only low information because we can only get low information from opinionated reports. Few facts. And seldom enough of the story.
