Weather for Elk Falls, Kansas
Clear with periodic clouds
Wind: 10 mph
Elk Falls is not home, but is close enough to freeze brass —-‘s off the monkey. What attracted my attention was the humidity. One would think with air that cold all the moisture would be wrung out of it. I suppose the wind has something to do with the lack of precipitation.
Today is the Redskins day – hopefully they will win and advance. The one team, well . . . actually there are two teams I’d rather they didn’t play: Seattle and K.C.. Both those teams are fast, fast. Seattle is both big and fast in the defensive back and K.C. is simply fast.
The Skins strike me as a team that thinks like a politician. Not thoroughly, mind, just not quickly. Unless, of course, it is election time and then they have a stock of canned insults ready for those moments.
And the Skins ain’t running for Congress.
Sticking with the personal stuff, this morning, I’m still having trouble with the lower register notes on this instrument I’m trying to get along with. Some reading has pointed out an item I hadn’t considered before. Music seems to tend to the higher notes. Special instruments have been developed to go low, but looking generally (surface examination, you understand) seems to support that supposition.
Still, the low notes are in the books and I’m somewhat determined, just as soon as my six pack pain eases up, to hit those low notes. I’m afraid to advance too far beyond my current page, fearing I’ll run into more of those notes.
Which reminds me; have you ever really looked at the ending measures of Ode To Joy?
And that reminds me of a former wife and her choice of music for the ceremony and that makes me wonder if there is a block there I’m not understanding.
I didn’t win the Lottery, either.
