Welcome to the shortest day. The longest night. The start of Winter.

It’s suppose to be dry and warmer through Christmas.

I’ll not judge good or bad.

The Redskins won. Rather handily. Another tough two game to make the playoffs. And Azi flat put a hurting on PHI. The playoff picture in one or two areas are messy. Oh. I’ve been enjoying the small college bowl games. They aren’t the big college quality, but the are fun.

The police give warning:

Car break-in numbers up this year at Wichita malls

It is the time of year for family and giving, but with shopping centers packed, it’s also a busy time for criminals, looking to steal your presents, and other values

Shop on-line and get ID stolen. Shop brick and mortar and get ripped off.

Reminds one of the old question: Would you rather lock you car at the mall and get the windows broken; or, leave it un-locked and let them steal, but not break the windows.

I’m never sure that locking the items  in the trunk is any good either.

There are still shopping days left, get on with it. The Salvation Army is not meeting their goals this year, in our area. Another charity is complaining that they are not making their goals either.

I don’t feel that Americans are any less willing to give freely, but it has been a skinny seven years, and there are a great many people living off charitable donations – both as hired folks and as receivers of the charity.

Actually, to my mind, charities have become scam artists rather than places to turn to in need.

But that is just my take.

About tenwhiskey

User tenwhiskey is also the author of this blog. He currently lives in small town Kansas in a semi-retired condition. His kids are married and gone (thank you). An empty nester. Divorced. Very happy with life as it is. Ten Mile maintains a personal blog here, writing of events as they appear to him; commentary, and opinions abound. He deviates into fiction as the mood strikes and creates flash fiction stories and short stories. He will not warn the reader when he drifts from fact to fiction. He feels adults are, generally, smart enough to figure out which is which. He does, however, attempt to make his fiction sound as true to life as possible. You have been warned. He, as time permits, writes and occasionally sells writing. More often than not he gives it away to various non-paying publishers of Ether Magazines, forums or for entertainment on a wall for in need of a hand friends. He likes candy, pies and a certain amount of strife. In the matter of strife - in his yourth on the farm, he became embroiled in a slinging fight. The fight involved lath as a launcher, fresh cow patties as ammo and it was a six way free for all. A little mud only adds (Umm?) a certain taste to life.
