I kind of chased a story around this morning. I didn’t write it, I was browsing the sports and caught a headline.

The line was about a guy clobbering the bride groom after the wedding. That sounded intriguing. Why.

But I continued reading about football players and monkeys, football coaches and the revolving door of opportunities for them, and hockey players getting injured.

(I’m not really sure hockey players are worthy of special reports of injuries – they should simply put the whole blessed team on the IR at the start of the season and forget about it.)

THEN I returned to the bride groom thingy. It had gotten away from me. I did, eventually, find it. It’s funny in  sad sort of way and I do not agree with the sentence of the assualter.  Not even. It is too long.

Wichita man sentenced for attacking groom on wedding day

Oliver Bradwell sentenced to 45 months in prison

The restitution alone, if paid of course, would be penury for the perp. Two years of probation (supervision) after.

The military system has a neat way of saying it. “Pay and Allowances”. That’s part of the sentencing for mil grades.

If the Democrats continue their power  surge, the government receiving all credits earned by a citizen, we may see such a system. Can you imagine a court saying we will allow you to continue free, however you will forfeit your welfare check three-quarters, your rent subsidy by half and receive curtailed food stamp benefits – meaning you will receive two meals a day from the food kitchen only.

This will continue for one year, and the completion of rehabilitation course three.

As attractive as that might sound I don’t really want a Liberal world.

About tenwhiskey

User tenwhiskey is also the author of this blog. He currently lives in small town Kansas in a semi-retired condition. His kids are married and gone (thank you). An empty nester. Divorced. Very happy with life as it is. Ten Mile maintains a personal blog here, writing of events as they appear to him; commentary, and opinions abound. He deviates into fiction as the mood strikes and creates flash fiction stories and short stories. He will not warn the reader when he drifts from fact to fiction. He feels adults are, generally, smart enough to figure out which is which. He does, however, attempt to make his fiction sound as true to life as possible. You have been warned. He, as time permits, writes and occasionally sells writing. More often than not he gives it away to various non-paying publishers of Ether Magazines, forums or for entertainment on a wall for in need of a hand friends. He likes candy, pies and a certain amount of strife. In the matter of strife - in his yourth on the farm, he became embroiled in a slinging fight. The fight involved lath as a launcher, fresh cow patties as ammo and it was a six way free for all. A little mud only adds (Umm?) a certain taste to life.
