Monday Night Football to go.

A good weekend for football of various levels. Good College games, good Pro games; and then there was the Martinville NASCAR race. Laughter. Lagano got a pay back and his father went ballistic (as he is noted to do). Poor sod. It was kind of nice to see a dilberate pay back.

A no frills, straight forward “ram the sucker”. Shades of yesteryear. The stuff that actually made NASCAR popular, because emotions are raw and direct.

I’ve already said “Crow” for the Royals. Then they had to win the whole damn Series.

Bah. Humbug.

And, by the way, good year to them.

From the sublime to the ridiculous.

TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) — A budget deficit is all but certain to emerge in Kansas with new, more pessimistic revenue projections expected in the coming week.

(Sorry. As part of my computer problems I have lost Desk Top, and a multitude of other functions. But I have lost the ability to tab and as a consequence, the link I was using to access the tax run of Ks this term.)

I must say “Good Man” to Manning, and his Broncos. That was a heck of a display – even the out takes the network was using to show the General Manager’s angst just prior to half time. They didn’t explain he was concerned with the tribute to Mr. B. that was scheduled for halftime.

At least before the fact. The announcer did say a bit afterwards.

All in all, a very good weekend (for the winners, I know).

Renter paid up in-kind last evening also. He made a point of mentioning several times that the meat he was giving me was from the cleaning out of freezers of last years meat. They were cleaning out the freezers for this years butcher.

Such is life in the country. Farmers don’t necessarily like paying debts. Oh, they do. But usually at their own good time and in their own way, if one doesn’t mind skirting the unspoken ends of any deal.

They always find an out.

Like one told me: “There’s nothing to do sitting on a tractor but think.” You’d never know what goes through their minds, now, would you.

About tenwhiskey

User tenwhiskey is also the author of this blog. He currently lives in small town Kansas in a semi-retired condition. His kids are married and gone (thank you). An empty nester. Divorced. Very happy with life as it is. Ten Mile maintains a personal blog here, writing of events as they appear to him; commentary, and opinions abound. He deviates into fiction as the mood strikes and creates flash fiction stories and short stories. He will not warn the reader when he drifts from fact to fiction. He feels adults are, generally, smart enough to figure out which is which. He does, however, attempt to make his fiction sound as true to life as possible. You have been warned. He, as time permits, writes and occasionally sells writing. More often than not he gives it away to various non-paying publishers of Ether Magazines, forums or for entertainment on a wall for in need of a hand friends. He likes candy, pies and a certain amount of strife. In the matter of strife - in his yourth on the farm, he became embroiled in a slinging fight. The fight involved lath as a launcher, fresh cow patties as ammo and it was a six way free for all. A little mud only adds (Umm?) a certain taste to life.
