I’m not a head doctor of any sort, obviously. But I had occasion this morning to think of aberrant behavior.

Not certain that I was on the right track or not I Goggled the definition of:

ma·ni·a

noun: mania

  1. mental illness marked by periods of great excitement, euphoria, delusions, and overactivity.

    synonyms:
madness, derangement, dementia, insanity, lunacy, psychosis, mental I llness; Moredelirium, frenzy, hysteria, raving, wildness”fits of mania

That seems rather straight forward and direct, doesn’t it. The problem with that definition is I’m applying it to a whole group of people, and it still seems to fit.

Let me show you:

MacMullan: Here’s the truly spooky part; New England hasn’t come close to

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — They prey on slights, real or imagined, marinating in their resolve so it can fester quietly, privately and in complete concert with one another

And, this one:

Esiason: Jets asked NFL to sweep locker room for bugs in New EnglandCBSSports.com

Here’s some more Jets-New England Patriots paranoia for youNJ.com

So, what we have going here is a team with a mania for winning and don’t mind cheating to get there, causing  paranoia in other teams in the league.

Pretty soon folks will begin to doubt the Commissioner’s judgment and question there own sanity.

Shucks, maybe the whole country will begin to act strange and suspect all, even each other and their purpose.

Maybe.

About tenwhiskey

User tenwhiskey is also the author of this blog. He currently lives in small town Kansas in a semi-retired condition. His kids are married and gone (thank you). An empty nester. Divorced. Very happy with life as it is. Ten Mile maintains a personal blog here, writing of events as they appear to him; commentary, and opinions abound. He deviates into fiction as the mood strikes and creates flash fiction stories and short stories. He will not warn the reader when he drifts from fact to fiction. He feels adults are, generally, smart enough to figure out which is which. He does, however, attempt to make his fiction sound as true to life as possible. You have been warned. He, as time permits, writes and occasionally sells writing. More often than not he gives it away to various non-paying publishers of Ether Magazines, forums or for entertainment on a wall for in need of a hand friends. He likes candy, pies and a certain amount of strife. In the matter of strife - in his yourth on the farm, he became embroiled in a slinging fight. The fight involved lath as a launcher, fresh cow patties as ammo and it was a six way free for all. A little mud only adds (Umm?) a certain taste to life.
