Nation’s Report Card: Kansas students still trending downward

WICHITA, Kan.- The grades are in and Kansas school children are slipping in the latest test known as the Nation’s Report Card. The state’s performance dip follows a national trend of falling scores on the national assessment of educational progress …

There is a great deal to add to the evidence. Core Education isn’t working. I’m not certain that centralized education is a good thing at all.

No. That’s not true. I don’t like the idea of centralized education at all. What so ever. It tends to cram all minds and body’s into the same small space.

Watched the recaps of the debate last night. It was rather nice to see some of the candidates take on the smug press. That did my heart well.

The idea of the press thinking their opinions should guide the Nation has been repugnant to me, having watched it since forever. Well, the last several decades. It just keeps getting worse and worse, certainly since the advent of computer networks.

It’s gotten so bad that I’ve begun sassing back talk radio shows. Even the conservative ones.

The dog does tilt his head trying to figure out what it is that’s upset me. Poor fellow.

I see, from the telly, that the Republicans are doing a dead wood cleaning, much as the Democrats did when dra-mama first pushed through that medica lcare program. The Republican movement to younger generation hasn’t hit the Senate yet, but it appears to be coming. The voters will take care of that soon – I hope soon enough._

About tenwhiskey

User tenwhiskey is also the author of this blog. He currently lives in small town Kansas in a semi-retired condition. His kids are married and gone (thank you). An empty nester. Divorced. Very happy with life as it is. Ten Mile maintains a personal blog here, writing of events as they appear to him; commentary, and opinions abound. He deviates into fiction as the mood strikes and creates flash fiction stories and short stories. He will not warn the reader when he drifts from fact to fiction. He feels adults are, generally, smart enough to figure out which is which. He does, however, attempt to make his fiction sound as true to life as possible. You have been warned. He, as time permits, writes and occasionally sells writing. More often than not he gives it away to various non-paying publishers of Ether Magazines, forums or for entertainment on a wall for in need of a hand friends. He likes candy, pies and a certain amount of strife. In the matter of strife - in his yourth on the farm, he became embroiled in a slinging fight. The fight involved lath as a launcher, fresh cow patties as ammo and it was a six way free for all. A little mud only adds (Umm?) a certain taste to life.
