Two shooting events deemed a huge success

Winfield Daily Courier Online

ARKANSAS CITY – More than 100 women and youth participated in this year’s Women On Target shooting clinic and the Tyler Juden Memorial Youth Hunter Education Challenge (YHEC) at the Baird Ranch south of Silverdale and hosted by the Sporting …

Housekeepers day. She’s still hyped over Hubby’s new job. She related that he didn’t get a raise like all the other employee’s. His probation period isn’t over until the end of November.

Housekeeper said that just after the raise was announced Hubby was sitting in the office because it was raining, reading the news paper. The other folks caught him and asked him what he was doing reading the paper and Hubby told them he was looking for a new job.

They laughed at him and told him he was not suppose to do that at work.

She did tell me something that mildly upset me. She and a friend, a builder of split wood fishing poles, were at her home town lake, fishing. A man came up and told them they would have to move, they were in the man’s spot.

The builder of poles feared, during the conversation, that the man would become violent and called the local police.

The police came, the man sent away and the police explained to the builder that the intrusive man was a member of my home village council. The police did nothing to the intruder.

They should have jailed the turkey. Council member or no. Maybe just for that reason.

Sunny today. It should get hot, from the looks of it. We had some fog around 3AM, but that didn’t last long.

About tenwhiskey

User tenwhiskey is also the author of this blog. He currently lives in small town Kansas in a semi-retired condition. His kids are married and gone (thank you). An empty nester. Divorced. Very happy with life as it is. Ten Mile maintains a personal blog here, writing of events as they appear to him; commentary, and opinions abound. He deviates into fiction as the mood strikes and creates flash fiction stories and short stories. He will not warn the reader when he drifts from fact to fiction. He feels adults are, generally, smart enough to figure out which is which. He does, however, attempt to make his fiction sound as true to life as possible. You have been warned. He, as time permits, writes and occasionally sells writing. More often than not he gives it away to various non-paying publishers of Ether Magazines, forums or for entertainment on a wall for in need of a hand friends. He likes candy, pies and a certain amount of strife. In the matter of strife - in his yourth on the farm, he became embroiled in a slinging fight. The fight involved lath as a launcher, fresh cow patties as ammo and it was a six way free for all. A little mud only adds (Umm?) a certain taste to life.
