I wasn’t going to write today.
A new store opened in the County Seat and I felt compelled to honor them with my presence. You can translate that to mean I had a curiosity and wanted to see. Sounded better the first way; more truthful the second.
The Dog scored. I got the bill. He got a new toy, milk bones, rawhide bones, and a sweet treat. I get to pay off the credit card.
As a couple of farmers said, standing about, they have everything a farmer needs.
He was right.
No clerks other than the two cashiers. I’m pretty sure that’ll change over time. Didn’t see any stockroom men about, either.
I was impressed, as always with this chain of stores, by the selection of tools and nuts/bolts. I’m forever needing something in those lines.
Anyhow. My ISP is tearing up ground again for the fiber optic cable they are laying along the highway. They are taking in seven more villages. Hardly recognize a small home grown company anymore. They give pretty good service, but they sure aren’t small.

SOUTH HAVEN, KAN. — Monday evening, city council members learned South Haven police chief Jason Boyd was under investigation by the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office.
Yeah. Generally speaking the uniforms are adequately compensated. Just a weakness, I suppose, all that loose cash floating about.
