I’ve mentioned Salina in these pages before. I’ve also said they a trade school function there. Some of the activity is aviation related, some otherwise.
Many bad things come through the news feed from that area. Probably it is multi-cultural related, or even drug related. Some times something funny comes along.
This morning it came in several pieces. One is the main story itself. It tickles my fancy that one speaks of aviation and an area of telephone poles in the same breath:
And the other, more amusing, literature clobber comes from the sub-headline teasers:
It just tickles the hell out of me visualizing wheat harvest being conducted with explosives.
Mean while, back in more responsible mode and concerning the village and myself; it seems the village secretary has quit. She wants her evenings back.
I assume that the certain truck showing up in her drive each evening has a something to do with evening work schedule she’s been doing. More power to her, and blessings on the relationship.
The other minor item for me is the calves. We’re not going to make the grass period as normal. It’s turned dry and the grass is in poor shape. The calves are eating only along the creek banks and I’ve begun double feed schedule with them. Rolled corn twice a day, morning and evening.
That should hold their weight up and keep them healthy until Renter can make arrangements for them elsewhere.
So I’ll be losing them within the week.
That means I’ll be able to get in the area and mow and get rid of some of the small trees that took root in there. That’s a good thing.
