I didn’t watch the debates – in their entirety – last night. Not for lack of desire, but because my provider scheduled heavy maintenance. They took down everything; the TV, the net, the telephones, everything.

All in the name of progress, of course.

This morning there isn’t a dime’s worth of difference to the casual eye. But, it is better. They told me so.

I have a blurb I got off the local news feed this morning. My tiny mind is still struggling with it. It deals with school districts closing THEIR school district to busses from any other school district.

Think about that for a moment. A school district declaring turf, just like a gang banger in the hood. My turf. Keep you fucking school busses outa here.

Is that true? Can it be?

Haven removes welcome to other district’s buses

– ‎Sep 15, 2015‎

Haven, KS — At least one KAKELAND school district is getting more protective about its district borders. The Haven district takes a tougher stance by not allowing buses from other districts to cross over into its territory to pick up students.

Haven’t a clue if it is legal or not. It seems like it would be in an organized system implied.  Actually, not necessary – either having to warn others away or developing routes that didn’t over lap.

Could it have something with the quality of education where  parents discriminate between schools and hence busses or has it something to do with color.

That last might be bad.

More likely, however, it has to do with money. Fewer students, fewer dollars.

About tenwhiskey

User tenwhiskey is also the author of this blog. He currently lives in small town Kansas in a semi-retired condition. His kids are married and gone (thank you). An empty nester. Divorced. Very happy with life as it is. Ten Mile maintains a personal blog here, writing of events as they appear to him; commentary, and opinions abound. He deviates into fiction as the mood strikes and creates flash fiction stories and short stories. He will not warn the reader when he drifts from fact to fiction. He feels adults are, generally, smart enough to figure out which is which. He does, however, attempt to make his fiction sound as true to life as possible. You have been warned. He, as time permits, writes and occasionally sells writing. More often than not he gives it away to various non-paying publishers of Ether Magazines, forums or for entertainment on a wall for in need of a hand friends. He likes candy, pies and a certain amount of strife. In the matter of strife - in his yourth on the farm, he became embroiled in a slinging fight. The fight involved lath as a launcher, fresh cow patties as ammo and it was a six way free for all. A little mud only adds (Umm?) a certain taste to life.
