hhdGol-l-lee.

Did ja see the Redskins pre-season game last night?

Oh, they won, but did ja see ‘em.

They got in a fight.

Hey, hey. Didn’t think that team had fight in ‘em. Probably wasn’t the best thing in the world, but I was glad to see it. Was.

And McCoy is the 2nd best QB on the team. Cousins might just be the best. Hadn’t thought about him much. He did a good job.

Cool came in last night. Pushed a bit of rain through prior to sun up and then the cool created fog. I rose to fog this morning, Love the stuff.

One of the worst mornings happened in the fog.

Got off work and had a taxi pick me up for the seventeen mile ride home. We were going up a small hill in dense fog and the driver was wrapped as tight as I was, when he drifted across the center line trying to error away from the English barr ditches.

About the time he did that we hit some black ice and a lorry popped out of the fog.

We hit head-on.

Before the accident settled down it involved us, the lorry, a tractor and trailer, two more cars and a police car.

Quite a mess. I was finally intelligent enough to go down the hill a way and start flagging down traffic.

Didn’t work well because they began their own pile up down there.

Never did take another taxi while I was in England. Never saw my driver again either, however much I like him and trusted his driving.

But, I still like a quiet day in the fog.

About tenwhiskey

User tenwhiskey is also the author of this blog. He currently lives in small town Kansas in a semi-retired condition. His kids are married and gone (thank you). An empty nester. Divorced. Very happy with life as it is. Ten Mile maintains a personal blog here, writing of events as they appear to him; commentary, and opinions abound. He deviates into fiction as the mood strikes and creates flash fiction stories and short stories. He will not warn the reader when he drifts from fact to fiction. He feels adults are, generally, smart enough to figure out which is which. He does, however, attempt to make his fiction sound as true to life as possible. You have been warned. He, as time permits, writes and occasionally sells writing. More often than not he gives it away to various non-paying publishers of Ether Magazines, forums or for entertainment on a wall for in need of a hand friends. He likes candy, pies and a certain amount of strife. In the matter of strife - in his yourth on the farm, he became embroiled in a slinging fight. The fight involved lath as a launcher, fresh cow patties as ammo and it was a six way free for all. A little mud only adds (Umm?) a certain taste to life.
