Some days are better then others. Following a day of frustration with Windows 10, I’m feeling better with it – although I still don’t like it. Oddly, part of the problem is the un-holy mix of minimal look and more “modern” cluttered look; or is it the other way around.

Anyhow, it’s appearance is distasteful. Which surprised me. More use is called for, I suppose.

I’ve been following the Planned Parenthood thing for several years. I’ve never quite trusted anything they have been involved in, and now this. Get rid of the bunch. All of them.

In the subject of government supported things (follow along now) there is the question I asked Housekeeper on her last visit. We were talking about the small fairs in the local towns and villages.

I asked her if she knew what the “H” stood for in the 4H’ers.

She didn’t know and I flipped out my answer, and then got to thinking about it. We went to the web and both of us got a surprise. The web told us, not only the meaning of the “H” but that the group is a government program. In fact it was created by the government.

The Cowley County Fair is a very busy time for all 4-H members, sponsors and the CC Extension leaders. Longtime 4-H participant Carol (Bossi) Mackey came to market Saturday sporting a unique personal manicure in green with the 4-H logo promoting

Just some more of the local regional activities I spout about once in a while.

About tenwhiskey

User tenwhiskey is also the author of this blog. He currently lives in small town Kansas in a semi-retired condition. His kids are married and gone (thank you). An empty nester. Divorced. Very happy with life as it is. Ten Mile maintains a personal blog here, writing of events as they appear to him; commentary, and opinions abound. He deviates into fiction as the mood strikes and creates flash fiction stories and short stories. He will not warn the reader when he drifts from fact to fiction. He feels adults are, generally, smart enough to figure out which is which. He does, however, attempt to make his fiction sound as true to life as possible. You have been warned. He, as time permits, writes and occasionally sells writing. More often than not he gives it away to various non-paying publishers of Ether Magazines, forums or for entertainment on a wall for in need of a hand friends. He likes candy, pies and a certain amount of strife. In the matter of strife - in his yourth on the farm, he became embroiled in a slinging fight. The fight involved lath as a launcher, fresh cow patties as ammo and it was a six way free for all. A little mud only adds (Umm?) a certain taste to life.
