They found the fellow that went into the Walnut early this morning. Not a good thing.

One of the better hands at the Co Op quit. Actually, he retired. And went to work for the county roads and grounds. He’s qualified for the retirement at the Co Op and picks up a better health package from the county.

He’ll be helping his father-in-law on the farm for shares, also.

And that’s how it is done for selected folks in the country.

Events calendar for August in the region; one event: Beef Fest weekend full of family fun

There will be a few more fairs to go yet, but I’ll get them up as they show up. There is a rodeo out Great Bend way and one down south of me. I see about the dates.

For the political minded – I hope you did not watch the Ohio Gov’s coming out speech. That was rather painful. He touched every base and twitched every heart string he could think of nd it was obvious. Too much so; and felt phony.

Well. He is the sixteenth out of the gates, what is left to say? His balancing the budget twenty years back isn’t much use now. And presenting a balanced budget isn’t much of an accomplishment if the business is still running red ink.

About tenwhiskey

User tenwhiskey is also the author of this blog. He currently lives in small town Kansas in a semi-retired condition. His kids are married and gone (thank you). An empty nester. Divorced. Very happy with life as it is. Ten Mile maintains a personal blog here, writing of events as they appear to him; commentary, and opinions abound. He deviates into fiction as the mood strikes and creates flash fiction stories and short stories. He will not warn the reader when he drifts from fact to fiction. He feels adults are, generally, smart enough to figure out which is which. He does, however, attempt to make his fiction sound as true to life as possible. You have been warned. He, as time permits, writes and occasionally sells writing. More often than not he gives it away to various non-paying publishers of Ether Magazines, forums or for entertainment on a wall for in need of a hand friends. He likes candy, pies and a certain amount of strife. In the matter of strife - in his yourth on the farm, he became embroiled in a slinging fight. The fight involved lath as a launcher, fresh cow patties as ammo and it was a six way free for all. A little mud only adds (Umm?) a certain taste to life.
