Hot. Again. Mucky hot.
There’s been an archery contest in South Dakota. A young lady from the area did herself very well. She took a Gold, a Silver and a Bronze medal in contesting with young international archers.
It appeared that her primary contestant was a girl from the Mexican team. The girl from the area assisted the USA taking three Compound Bow Titles.
Well, done, Ms. Crook.
Within the village; there has been a great deal of siren activity. One range fire and several ambulance calls. Three or four sheriffs runs.
Have I mentioned it has been hot.
The calves are well and slow with heat. I’m setting out the water trough this weekend. They have been coming in with muddy flanks and legs, the mud helping keep the fleas and ticks off, but before they came in wet – which means that running water is getting scarce and the creek is drying up.
That’s not necessarily a bad thing, overall. I can start filling in holes in the property line barr ditches that I’ve been cursing the past few years and some of the sink holes in the lawns and pasture. I take the dirt from the creek bottom for those needs.
And, yes, I got my pizza. Had to go to Fredonia to get them.
