I started to write about the old car dealership building. I forgot to take a picture of it. This thing in this picture, is that stupid well I’ve written of before. It is in the center of the main intersection of the village.
It’s about eight feet across, sixty five feet deep, and lined. It was used, way back in the 1800’s to service the trains. The RR was here long before the village was here. We were a site of a small gage and normal gage crossing so it became a minor place of business as goods were many times transferred from train to train.
We’ve (the council) has decided to fill the big hole with dirt and stone and when it settles, they’ll cap it. The pumped it dry over a period of a day or so one time and the well re-filled within twenty-four hours. The council then gave up on simply capping the thing.
