Not feeling up to traveling today, read simply didn’t want to, I decided to inventory the Republican wanabee’s and maybe take a few pictures.

The wannabe’s were too numerous, and, quite frankly, more were all over TV declaring. The latest is the fellow from Texas. It takes a Texan an amount of time doesn’t it, just to say Howdy.

Then I thought I’d step out back and take a picture of the calves, or some of them. They were suppose to be garbaging up on range cubes.

They weren’t. They were in the tall grass on the other side the creek – over there somewhere. It is getting hot.

Not to be put off by cattle, I thought I’d check those miniature dwarf fruit trees I planted four year ago and promised the village council wouldn’t over hang the main road.

And which I’m still wondering if I can fulfill that promise:

That’s a Dwarf Pear. Uh Uh. The others are lined up behind this one, just to the left of the fence. Another pear, two apple.

The tree’s give decent fruit. I like the pear the best.

And, Yeah, I do mow all of that stuff. Finished yesterday in this area. Last week that barr ditch on the left was over the road. It comes down to the bridge (huge culvert) out front. You’re looking West, that building up there is outside the village limits.

They are renovating it to be a green grocers, farmers market come summer. Well, later this summer.

I even took some pictures of the ball field and the batting cage – being as how Dog and the calves weren’t interested in showing their faces.

User tenwhiskey is also the author of this blog. He currently lives in small town Kansas in a semi-retired condition. His kids are married and gone (thank you). An empty nester. Divorced. Very happy with life as it is. Ten Mile maintains a personal blog here, writing of events as they appear to him; commentary, and opinions abound. He deviates into fiction as the mood strikes and creates flash fiction stories and short stories. He will not warn the reader when he drifts from fact to fiction. He feels adults are, generally, smart enough to figure out which is which. He does, however, attempt to make his fiction sound as true to life as possible. You have been warned. He, as time permits, writes and occasionally sells writing. More often than not he gives it away to various non-paying publishers of Ether Magazines, forums or for entertainment on a wall for in need of a hand friends. He likes candy, pies and a certain amount of strife. In the matter of strife - in his yourth on the farm, he became embroiled in a slinging fight. The fight involved lath as a launcher, fresh cow patties as ammo and it was a six way free for all. A little mud only adds (Umm?) a certain taste to life.

Down the road a piece is the headwaters of the Republican. In the spring of 1935 it overflowed and spread havoc all over the country side.

That was with a Democratic President. However, point taken. They’re at it again. I woke this morning thinking that the Democratic presumptive is like elections in Cuba, Russia or any other strong man country – one party selected person, and don’t dare more than a token dissenting vote. Allowing them into the school system and allowing unions into government was a terrible mistake.
