I’m watching a re-run of the Coke 600. Beats the heck out of listening to the news re-hashing Benghazi and Hillary. Hillary is an educated idiot, and Benghazi was the telephone call at 0330 hours she didn’t answer – about like dra-mama not being about.

It’s difficult to avoid the Day’s activities. I don’t really wish to, but sometimes enough is enough and this has been going on for three days, culminating today. I think, having been one of the less than one percent having served of the population, that they feel just a little embarrased also.

Came across this in the local news. I present it as written, without judgment:

Man stabbed 13 times trying to help stranger

EL DORADO, Kan. –

As Roy Nelson worked to move his family into their new home in El Dorado late Friday night, he overheard an argument from a couple across the street.

He said the man seemed drunk, and the woman kept asking him to leave.

“After a few minutes, he didn’t want to leave,” said Nelson. “I started walking across the street. He started heading towards me. When we got in the street I said, ‘The lady asked you to leave man, I think you need to leave.'”

That’s when Nelson said the man punched him. A fight began between the two and the man pulled out a pocket knife and stabbed him 13 times.

“I yelled to my wife that he was stabbing me and I punched him and knocked him out,” said Nelson. “That’s when I went to the hospital.”

He said the woman left with the suspect in a vehicle.

It was a question as to posting just the link or an abbreviated substance. KWCH, Wichita Ks, TV station carried the story.

The perps in jail, the victim is home with his family.

It rained again last night. Not quite as badly as the night before. We were lucky. We did get some of  the bad stuff, KS that is, and it looks to be drifting Eastward, clearing us up.

That’s a good thing.

Renter and I were talking about the weather and agreed that we’d had enough water for the time being, and agreeing, also, that in July we’d probably be looking back and wishing for rain.

Perverse creatures humans.

Thanks for the B-Day cards to those that sent them. Much appreciated. I did leave a couple of comments at a couple of sites wishing the owners good cheer – not sure, what with moderated comments. if the comments went through.

Beastly thing, not acknowledging comments by the host software. Not the site owners fault, however.

About tenwhiskey

User tenwhiskey is also the author of this blog. He currently lives in small town Kansas in a semi-retired condition. His kids are married and gone (thank you). An empty nester. Divorced. Very happy with life as it is. Ten Mile maintains a personal blog here, writing of events as they appear to him; commentary, and opinions abound. He deviates into fiction as the mood strikes and creates flash fiction stories and short stories. He will not warn the reader when he drifts from fact to fiction. He feels adults are, generally, smart enough to figure out which is which. He does, however, attempt to make his fiction sound as true to life as possible. You have been warned. He, as time permits, writes and occasionally sells writing. More often than not he gives it away to various non-paying publishers of Ether Magazines, forums or for entertainment on a wall for in need of a hand friends. He likes candy, pies and a certain amount of strife. In the matter of strife - in his yourth on the farm, he became embroiled in a slinging fight. The fight involved lath as a launcher, fresh cow patties as ammo and it was a six way free for all. A little mud only adds (Umm?) a certain taste to life.
