Still more rain and another day to go. Things, from a general perspective, are improving however. An end is in sight.

Ref: The missing lawn mower used by near neighbor to cash his stuff. Brother gave up  searching after two days. The day after the brother gave up, near neighbors extended family came around and they cleared out the stach he uses to service casual drive by traffic.

He has a small box inside some junk he keeps on the front porch. They took the small box.

Last night near neighbor returned and this morning he began the rounds of questioning of certain people that might know where the mower could have gone. The same people at the trucking concern just outside the village limits where near neighbor use to work and where he many times goes at regular hours as the usual driver arrives after working.

I neglected to mention that a cube truck did an after dark run through the village the night of the theft. The truck is one which brings an annual harvest of plants from elsewhere, and its arrival is announced by add in the local paper, with the warning “be on the look out for” followed by a clownish description of the cube truck.

Skipping over the dra-mama’s desire to form a nationwide police force, negating the States rights, I’ll point out a little thing of interest:

The medics have cleared the good Doctor again, but I wonder, sometimes, if one catches something, and is cured, and then it is found to still be there, uncured, how anyone can be free of a virus that lives in fluids.

Kind of like mosquito larva. Any pond is infected, whether the carrier is immune or no, not every one is.

About tenwhiskey

User tenwhiskey is also the author of this blog. He currently lives in small town Kansas in a semi-retired condition. His kids are married and gone (thank you). An empty nester. Divorced. Very happy with life as it is. Ten Mile maintains a personal blog here, writing of events as they appear to him; commentary, and opinions abound. He deviates into fiction as the mood strikes and creates flash fiction stories and short stories. He will not warn the reader when he drifts from fact to fiction. He feels adults are, generally, smart enough to figure out which is which. He does, however, attempt to make his fiction sound as true to life as possible. You have been warned. He, as time permits, writes and occasionally sells writing. More often than not he gives it away to various non-paying publishers of Ether Magazines, forums or for entertainment on a wall for in need of a hand friends. He likes candy, pies and a certain amount of strife. In the matter of strife - in his yourth on the farm, he became embroiled in a slinging fight. The fight involved lath as a launcher, fresh cow patties as ammo and it was a six way free for all. A little mud only adds (Umm?) a certain taste to life.
