Kansas farmers are again being targeted to help make up Topeka’s budget shortfall, this time with a bill introduced by a Wichita car dealer that would require them to pay sales tax on machinery.
TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) – A bill that would heavily restrict sexually oriented businesses did not advance as Kansas lawmakers face key deadlines.
The Senate Corrections and Juvenile Justice Committee debated the bill Wednesday. It was the last day the panel could meet before the Legislature’s annual “turnaround” deadline. With a 3-3 tie in voting on the measure, it will not advance.
There’s a few other things one shouldn’t mention in the same breath as religion, politics and common sense, but these two will do rightly.
Weather is fine. Up there in temps. I’ve been eye-balling the grass and it has that color of yellow that is telling me stuff is happening under last years die back. That’s good stuff. I think, from walking it, I needn’t fertilize this spring. Maybe this fall, after seeing how the summer feedings affect it.
