Yesterday’s wind and all is but a memory – except for listening to FOX News and all the east coast Governors yell about it.

Probably the folks of the East are less riled than the governors that seem to be treating their population like two year olds.

Hey! If someone wants to kill themselves by weather – well, police up the bodies after wards and charge the families for the service.

It’s those power outages that should be worried about.

Dog is enjoying the almost spring like weather today. He wants to stay out and bark at all the things he watches through the windows when it is very cold. I’ll give him one credit. He damn near caught the big black cat this morning.

The cat forgot the length of the cable Dog has and paid little attention when I put Dog out. Almost.

But he couldn’t. Pity.

I left them to it and finished my bacon and eggs.

And fresh coffee.

A treat that was. The day started very well. Then the mail came. The village gov decided to pay off a piece of equipment early so raised the water rates by 3X without notice.

The deal is obscene water rates for an undisclosed time and with the loan is paid offf they will borrow some more to install new meters.

Which we’ll have to pay for with obscene water rates.

There is something to be said for hating government.

About tenwhiskey

User tenwhiskey is also the author of this blog. He currently lives in small town Kansas in a semi-retired condition. His kids are married and gone (thank you). An empty nester. Divorced. Very happy with life as it is. Ten Mile maintains a personal blog here, writing of events as they appear to him; commentary, and opinions abound. He deviates into fiction as the mood strikes and creates flash fiction stories and short stories. He will not warn the reader when he drifts from fact to fiction. He feels adults are, generally, smart enough to figure out which is which. He does, however, attempt to make his fiction sound as true to life as possible. You have been warned. He, as time permits, writes and occasionally sells writing. More often than not he gives it away to various non-paying publishers of Ether Magazines, forums or for entertainment on a wall for in need of a hand friends. He likes candy, pies and a certain amount of strife. In the matter of strife - in his yourth on the farm, he became embroiled in a slinging fight. The fight involved lath as a launcher, fresh cow patties as ammo and it was a six way free for all. A little mud only adds (Umm?) a certain taste to life.
