Wichita police: Man shot, killed by officer was ‘belligerent,’ reaching for his waistband

Police say 23-year-old John Paul Quintero did not respond to a Taser being used on him, so an officer shot him twice when he stepped toward another officer and reached toward his waistband. Quintero later died at Wesley Medical Center. Police have not recovered a weapon from the scene.

Which only goes to prove if you say you want dead cops, the cops need to take you seriously. Even if they’d rather not take you for your stupid words, thoughts and actions are closely related.

The part about the man acting under the Taser was a Rodney King moment. PCB laced something will do it. If it isn’t laced, then CO might have cultivated a considerably stronger grass than most.

Where am I? Oh. Yeah. Near neighbor got all flustered one week. I was cutting grass early one day and picked up a piece of wire with the mower. Made a hell of a noise going through the table and it flattened the fron tire of the Dixon.

Dixons do pretty well with a front tire flat, so I continued on.

Next day I observed near neighbor out investigating the condition of the inop Jeep I’d been mowing about when the noise occurred. The Jeep happens to be parked where near neighbor has his listen post. An disk shaped thing.

Needless to say I hadn’t scratched the vehicle. They’ve been putting stuff around the vehicle so I can’t mow closely to it, which I move as required to mow – closely.

The other thing that happened was the owner of the vehicle (extended family) started coming around once a day checking on the vehicle.

This fall the weather has had its share of winds. The winds have loosened a slab ofsheet metal on the shed wherein near neighbor has established his listening post.

The daily area checks by the extended family have increased to two or three a day.. They ‘ve even gone as far as sitting on the old RR right of way watching the area – and, as luck would have it, the wind hasn’t blown enough to bang the sheet metal roof while they’ve been watching.

It’s been ten days now and I’m really curious as to which will occur first: They give up watching. They discover the loose metal and fix it. Or, they simply give up.

None are too handy with a hammer.

He deviates into fiction as the mood strikes and creates flash fiction stories and short stories. He will not warn the reader when he drifts from fact to fiction. He feels adults are, generally, smart enough to figure out which is which. He does, however, attempt to make his fiction sound as true to life as possible. You have been warned. He, as time permits, writes and occasionally sells writing. More often than not he gives it away to various non-paying publishers of Ether Magazines, forums or for entertainment on a wall for in need of a hand friends. He likes candy, pies and a certain amount of strife. In the matter of strife - in his yourth on the farm, he became embroiled in a slinging fight. The fight involved lath as a launcher, fresh cow patties as ammo and it was a six way free for all. A little mud only adds (Umm?) a certain taste to life.
