Dog has been a pain in the rear.
Happy for a few hours,, sad for most of the day.
Happy comes from the pork leavings and the bones from broth pot.
He gets really sad when I start hunting for the bones he’s hidden in the house. It is difficult to tell him that the mice like the bones also. Poor fellow.
I say poor because I don’t think he believed me until he jealousy guarded the area of his latest hiding place and a very small mouse found it – while he was sleeping near it.
I stepped over to the area and the tiny mouse ran. Just a little way, and tried to hide behind Dog’s ear.
Dog came un-glued. I’m still laughing, Dog’s still on full alert. The bone is in the trash and the mouse has earned a large portion of Decon (Rat poision).
Now if that cute little mouse will have sense to eat hearty.
I’ve not thought of it before, but Dog likes pork bones over beef bones, but bones well above regular, low cost, dog food. I’ve been thinking of re-installing the bird feeders again, and have been thinning the tree rat population. I’m about to stew a couple of them. Maybe Dog will go for wild game.
And that might keep the sad away for some time.
Now. For some remedy for the pain in the rear of opening and closing the doors for a dog, five times an hour, and missing all the good plays in the football game.
