College Football. Played in some heat, really.

I’ve been catching up on the mowing and half an area left. The loud speakers for the Labor Day Activities got to be louder than the tractor and the mower blades. I gave it up until the temps moderate in the evening. I didn’t get it all done for the activities, for which I’m truly sorry. Tried. Failed.

Obama sent a letter Friday describing the raises to the House and Senate. The figure is lower than private sector pay increase and lower than what a government formula for raises would have provided. Obama can bypass that formula by informing Congress of his alternative plan by the end of August.

Just thought I’d mention the love of dra-mama for the military.

Actually, not paying them would decrease the military as pink slips in a war zone.

Ungracious snot, him.

Was down to the Co-Op yesterday durinng the rains. They appear to be on a hiring freeze and have expanded the services being offered. Some of the workerws seemed put out and a couple simply have lowered their head and are plowing forward.

Business seems to be picking up, however.

Also of note: the local trucking concern, since the death of the founder, has sold off most of the lands the old owner accumulated, sold off theirover the road side of the business and have retained only their stay at home drivers. They’ve ingathered their equipment and have inventoried and seem to be ready for a sale. They’ve layed off three people.

And the personall home of the passed founder is for sale.

That’s the worse thing coming out of there, it seems wrong somehow.

About tenwhiskey

User tenwhiskey is also the author of this blog. He currently lives in small town Kansas in a semi-retired condition. His kids are married and gone (thank you). An empty nester. Divorced. Very happy with life as it is. Ten Mile maintains a personal blog here, writing of events as they appear to him; commentary, and opinions abound. He deviates into fiction as the mood strikes and creates flash fiction stories and short stories. He will not warn the reader when he drifts from fact to fiction. He feels adults are, generally, smart enough to figure out which is which. He does, however, attempt to make his fiction sound as true to life as possible. You have been warned. He, as time permits, writes and occasionally sells writing. More often than not he gives it away to various non-paying publishers of Ether Magazines, forums or for entertainment on a wall for in need of a hand friends. He likes candy, pies and a certain amount of strife. In the matter of strife - in his yourth on the farm, he became embroiled in a slinging fight. The fight involved lath as a launcher, fresh cow patties as ammo and it was a six way free for all. A little mud only adds (Umm?) a certain taste to life.
