There are some things that, on the surface just do not make make sense:
Census: More people moving out of Kansas than moving in
More people have been leaving Kansas than moving here over the last four years, new Census figures show.
The state experienced a net loss of 10,197 people because of outward migration from 2010 through July 1, 2013, according to numbers released Thursday by the Census Bureau.
That number offsets a net gain of 9,830 people who migrated into the state from 2007 to 2009, Census numbers show.
We have a pretty good jobs event and all other items round about indicate recreation, education and favorable tax situation is here and in place. The average age of the farmer is quite high however, at about 62. That means the farms are getting sold off, usually to larger farmers so the labor base is shrinking, moving away. The decline in the aircraft industry is basically the same as the farmer problem.
Wichita is seeking money to ‘study’ ways and means of growing the economy. I noticed that the town is also considering making Old Town an amusement park area.
That last might take some doing.
