The snow is gone – well, most of it. Three days of good weather, now some wind finishes the job of removable. I’m not planning any haste in grading out the donuts I made satisfying my neighbors about my among the living, although I’m not really happy with the ruts in the gravel.
Thinking about it, I’d better do something with them before Housekeeper comes. She’s not bashful about telling me there are ruts out there. She’s hard. Tough even.
All of which reminds me I’d selected a story about the locals making much of pot holes and such. The people in charge made a fuss of the “survey” of the winter damage with an eye to repairs.
Which means nothing to actually getting the work performed, does it.
That was yesterday. Today I came upon the following story:
WICHITA, Kan. –
The man Wichita Police think is responsible for the death of 25-year-old Daniel Flores is now in jail. Antwon Banks has been released from the hospital, where was under guard.
Flores was found dead at a Wichita radio station earlier this week.
Sources tell KWCH 31-year-old Antwon Banks was taken into custody Wednesday night during a traffic stop.
According to police, a CrimeStoppers tip led them to the suspect, who was in his car in the 3900 block of N. Woodlawn. Police say the suspect stabbed himself in the stomach with a large knife as they were trying to arrest him.
I was intrigued by the idea of work place violence, but realized that generally speaking, a radio station can be quit isolated and small. The other item of interest was the solution from the tip line.
I think that is a publishing first. Usually they don’t say where that comes from. It’s good, I think, that they did publish that and allow the system some legitimacy. Hopefully, that will encourage others.
