Every time Housekeeper and I talk current events she tells me she saw it on the local TV station.
Which puts me at a terrible disadvantage because I seldom watch the local TV station. I set out to remedy that situation and found it unworkable. I couldn’t stand the voices and looks of the folks on the stations (some of whom are ex-FOX news persons from days gone by and some of whom were old when I first saw the stations and are now more so. The ones of the “back then” bunch remind me of Congress. They are the winners of the power fights. No fresh faces here, move along).
I’ve found that the web can help me out by bringing me snippets of news from the local areas and I have fun searching the more obscure towns for the latest happenings.
This morning, beginning me search for subjects to comment on, I opened my Favorites list and clicked on Local and Breaking News.
It gave me a long list of stuff going on outside the the little valley along the creek bottom where I live.
Of course, no one said I have to like what I see. As an example, the first three items on the list:
- Police: Man in black goggles robs Quality Inn Today at 12:13 p.m.
- Two men rob Bella Luna on East Central Today at 12:10 p.m.
- Man dies after being shot; car crashes, rolls over near Harry Today at 12:05 p.m.

Now. Please excuse me, I’ve managed to make a stew I’m very happy with and it is lunch time.
