3 teens shot near KCK community center, suspect at large

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Kansas City, Kan., police said three teens were shot near the Joe E. Amayor Sr. Argentine Community Center around 5:30 p.m. Monday.

It appears they were walking near the intersection of Metropolitan Avenue and South 25th Street when someone in a SUV shot at them. All three have minor injuries and were taken to the hospital, police said.

I’m not absolutely certain, in this day and age, this story is of great interest. A sadd – ism of a different sort. The way the story was written, however, made the story amusing and difficult to read.

Soggy. Rain soaked. Cold. Not chilly. Cold.Thirty-four degrees. The power was off for just under three hours.

Cheers for the men that ran up and down the roads in the pitch black resetting fuses. When the power went off the lightening was at its height. A very bright yellowish red climbed vertically over toward the bank.

Seeing it through spaces between the intervening homes restricted my perceptions, but the burst had depth and width and height. It popped and rumbled and the clouds echoed the flare.

Then the lights went out. So did the heat.

All is well now. No alarms calling the troops to a fire or crushed buildings. It didn’t have the blue tinge of a transformer strike, so maybe just a tree met its fate.

We’ll see when the sun climbs above the horizon.

I notice that the Powers-That-Be are manipulating the media to convince the public that the YOUNG man in custody regarding the Boston Bombing was led by the nose by his brother, the dead and evil one. That means that we can relax justice in this case and pass blame to the dead brother and exonerate the YOUNG man in custody.

Horse shit.

I got out of real estate sales when I realized that most of my business was concerning Death, Divorce and Disaster.

I’m not constitutionally constructed to handle much of that.

The reason I bring that up? My neighbor to the southwest. He’s a real estate sales person (among other things including greedy). He came over yesterday and told me a tale I ended laughing over. He was slightly amused. He had to be, even though it is going to cost him his commission in the short term.

And he didn’t even see it coming. Actually, the way it went only three people saw it coming. When it gets out of court I might be able to write about it.

This being a known blog by our small village inhabitants and  all, I’d rather not put ideas into fertile ground.

It is past time I feed the calves. After last night they’ll appreciate the heat the corn will generate.

Very happy with life as it is. Ten Mile maintains a personal blog here, writing of events as they appear to him; commentary, and opinions abound. He deviates into fiction as the mood strikes and creates flash fiction stories and short stories. He will not warn the reader when he drifts from fact to fiction. He feels adults are, generally, smart enough to figure out which is which. He does, however, attempt to make his fiction sound as true to life as possible. You have been warned. He, as time permits, writes and occasionally sells writing. More often than not he gives it away to various non-paying publishers of Ether Magazines, forums or for entertainment on a wall for in need of a hand friends. He likes candy, pies and a certain amount of strife. In the matter of strife - in his yourth on the farm, he became embroiled in a slinging fight. The fight involved lath as a launcher, fresh cow patties as ammo and it was a six way free for all. A little mud only adds (Umm?) a certain taste to life.
