Siemens plans Wichita distribution center

Siemens, a diversified international company with a focus on energy, is planning to announce today that it has signed a lease for 74000 square feet of warehouse space at 1090 E. 37th St. North.

– which pretty well tells the reader Kansas is a windy State and we’re getting rank with windmills. (Pun intended)

Then there’s the other fight that’s been going on for quite a while:

Wichita abortion clinic on track to open in 2012

The abortion rights group, Trust Women, says it has raised half of the money needed to open a clinic. The everlasting, fierce battle between abortion rights groups and pro-life groups could soon heat up once again.

– for so many pro-lifer’s, Kansas has had more than its share of killings (adults as well as fetus) and more than its share of clinics. With Sebelus gone the level of easy abortions has fallen. Well, if one doesn’t count the murder of the abortion King, shot by a pro-lifer.

The whole argument is a mess, really. That’s a thing that’s choice, and only one person can make that choice. I believe a court case resolved that one, not even the father can gain say with whom the choice lays.

Weird to morn the loss of a house plant, but I sure miss the hanging plants I’ve had in the front window for the last thirteen years. I’m not sure what killed it. It was one of those mixed things from Wally World. First one in there died, then six months or so later the other.

I use the plants to combat that winter blah thing. It’s too late to replace it. I’ve also lost the climbing plant that pretty well took over the living room wall. Housekeeper thought until we examined the pots that I had a bad case of mouse. No evidence of that, no droppings. Something killed them.

It looks, regardless of druthers, that my ISP has turned us over to Google. As the ISP is a telephone company I’ll probably be getting come-on’s for ISP voice mail and all the rest of the web magic Google is wedded with. “probably be getting . . “ is misleading. I’ve been getting junk snail mail about it, but no junk email.

Which proves, I suppose, that Windows junk mail filter is just as good as Googles.

About tenwhiskey

User tenwhiskey is also the author of this blog. He currently lives in small town Kansas in a semi-retired condition. His kids are married and gone (thank you). An empty nester. Divorced. Very happy with life as it is. Ten Mile maintains a personal blog here, writing of events as they appear to him; commentary, and opinions abound. He deviates into fiction as the mood strikes and creates flash fiction stories and short stories. He will not warn the reader when he drifts from fact to fiction. He feels adults are, generally, smart enough to figure out which is which. He does, however, attempt to make his fiction sound as true to life as possible. You have been warned. He, as time permits, writes and occasionally sells writing. More often than not he gives it away to various non-paying publishers of Ether Magazines, forums or for entertainment on a wall for in need of a hand friends. He likes candy, pies and a certain amount of strife. In the matter of strife - in his yourth on the farm, he became embroiled in a slinging fight. The fight involved lath as a launcher, fresh cow patties as ammo and it was a six way free for all. A little mud only adds (Umm?) a certain taste to life.
