Don’t forget:

See the link for details of a Wounded Warriors Raffle. He’s giving away good stuff – well, the raffle prizes are good stuff, I’m not thinking he’s giving it away.

Cruddy day. Emotionally wise. Just another over hot, dry day other wise.

Managed to get a bit of the running about before the eight AM hour. Bunkered cattle feed. I found out that the plan is to take the cattle to the butcher 15 Sep. That means around the first week of Oct, maybe a bit later – if coordination is normal, after the 15th of November, I should get the payment for the pasture, water and care.

The November date is the most probable because of the seasons. The butcher is sixty miles more or less North and the drive up and back a trial for the Renter and his wife. Therefore, they’ll do me and the church in a swoop just before Thanksgiving.

The family will do their out sharing as needed – they are all known at the lockers.

In that vein, I went out and purchased a freezer. Never had one, didn’t feel I ever needed one. But this summer, because of food prices and the heat, I tried to fit seven pounds of ice and all those bargain’s in various freezers in the grocers I’ve developed a positive outlook on freezers.

Which brings up one of those “grumble, sniff” moments.the ladies at Sears in Independence actually shoved me aside to operate the tail gate of the truck attempting to load the freezer on the truck. I hadn’t been paying attention to who I was dealing with – I should have when two females were the sole proprietors of the store, but I was too into reviewing my next stop on the buying tour.

Too many sexes anymore, or wannbe sexes. Give a guy heart burn trying to keep the PC conduct in mind for each.

Well. Lost a walnut tree to the establishment. They (two of four) want no tree’s in the bar ditches, so a twenty year old walnut tree went.

Don’t ask. The village councilors have been in office too long, I believe.

About tenwhiskey

User tenwhiskey is also the author of this blog. He currently lives in small town Kansas in a semi-retired condition. His kids are married and gone (thank you). An empty nester. Divorced. Very happy with life as it is. Ten Mile maintains a personal blog here, writing of events as they appear to him; commentary, and opinions abound. He deviates into fiction as the mood strikes and creates flash fiction stories and short stories. He will not warn the reader when he drifts from fact to fiction. He feels adults are, generally, smart enough to figure out which is which. He does, however, attempt to make his fiction sound as true to life as possible. You have been warned. He, as time permits, writes and occasionally sells writing. More often than not he gives it away to various non-paying publishers of Ether Magazines, forums or for entertainment on a wall for in need of a hand friends. He likes candy, pies and a certain amount of strife. In the matter of strife - in his yourth on the farm, he became embroiled in a slinging fight. The fight involved lath as a launcher, fresh cow patties as ammo and it was a six way free for all. A little mud only adds (Umm?) a certain taste to life.
