It will be a good thing when College Football ends.

And maybe, when NASCAR ends – it is getting tiresome switching channels to keep up with NASCAR and Football.

College Ball because Wed, Thurs, Friday and Saturday. Pro Ball Sundays.

And tonight? FOOTBALL.

I’ve bombed in poker because of Football.

Yeah. Better football than poker.

Better football than sleep.

I’ve existed on roasted chicken; boiled franks; BBQ’ed wings (I’m not much of a cook); Mac and Cheese; Chips and Dip.

Mornings are for trying to wake. Afternoons are for preparation for evenings. No time to shower. No time for . . well, she called and asked how I was doing – I didn’t have a lot of time I tell her. She’ll call back.

After College Football concludes.

I asked her what she wanted for Christmas. She asked if I had time to shop. I said I could do On-Line at half times if I could get the order in early enough, she could get it by Christmas, not after the Super Bowl like last year.

She said she’d come by this week coming, did I need anything. I figured I needed some BBQ bricks, wings and parts, would she pick some up on her way over?

She sounded resigned. Not sure what that’s all about. I’ll need to remember to ask her.

About tenwhiskey

User tenwhiskey is also the author of this blog. He currently lives in small town Kansas in a semi-retired condition. His kids are married and gone (thank you). An empty nester. Divorced. Very happy with life as it is. Ten Mile maintains a personal blog here, writing of events as they appear to him; commentary, and opinions abound. He deviates into fiction as the mood strikes and creates flash fiction stories and short stories. He will not warn the reader when he drifts from fact to fiction. He feels adults are, generally, smart enough to figure out which is which. He does, however, attempt to make his fiction sound as true to life as possible. You have been warned. He, as time permits, writes and occasionally sells writing. More often than not he gives it away to various non-paying publishers of Ether Magazines, forums or for entertainment on a wall for in need of a hand friends. He likes candy, pies and a certain amount of strife. In the matter of strife - in his yourth on the farm, he became embroiled in a slinging fight. The fight involved lath as a launcher, fresh cow patties as ammo and it was a six way free for all. A little mud only adds (Umm?) a certain taste to life.
