Days have gotten away, plans gone astray, and I’ve spent time from home. Far more time than planned – which is to say, I planned none away and spent most of the last week trying to get back.

Thank heaven for programs that allow access to ones own computer.

Have been watching how Fresh Bilge handles his life threatening disease, and been comparing it to how two other bloggers handled theirs. Interesting, the reactions of all.

Yet another blogger handled life situations pretty well. I still might not take odds on it, but I believe the situation will resolve better than two others (non-life threatening) handled theirs. This poker stuff seems to grip some a great deal tighter than others when the choice must be made.

Finished Kelly Armstrong’s Living With The Dead at a rest stop on the way home. I think I can honestly say her last three books demonstrate a maturation of a writer, this latest best of all. She finally used sexual tensions as an element rather than graphic sexual depictions as the story.

I liked the book. And all of its twists and turns.

And, lastly, I’ll finish the last two or three sections of my serial story. That will do a couple of things for me – get the weight off my shoulders; finish the story, as much as the story may be finished, and allow me to start playing with the next.

Fun times.

I have been selected to the jury pool for the county. Which means I’ll be in the pool until some time next year – unless they call us for duty, or release us, depending on the case load. Which means for an undetermined amount of time I’ll be hanging around home.

From the reaches,

About tenwhiskey

User tenwhiskey is also the author of this blog. He currently lives in small town Kansas in a semi-retired condition. His kids are married and gone (thank you). An empty nester. Divorced. Very happy with life as it is. Ten Mile maintains a personal blog here, writing of events as they appear to him; commentary, and opinions abound. He deviates into fiction as the mood strikes and creates flash fiction stories and short stories. He will not warn the reader when he drifts from fact to fiction. He feels adults are, generally, smart enough to figure out which is which. He does, however, attempt to make his fiction sound as true to life as possible. You have been warned. He, as time permits, writes and occasionally sells writing. More often than not he gives it away to various non-paying publishers of Ether Magazines, forums or for entertainment on a wall for in need of a hand friends. He likes candy, pies and a certain amount of strife. In the matter of strife - in his yourth on the farm, he became embroiled in a slinging fight. The fight involved lath as a launcher, fresh cow patties as ammo and it was a six way free for all. A little mud only adds (Umm?) a certain taste to life.
