Early, cool, clear, with promise of hot, dusty and busy later.

Still waiting for the Repub VP to be named. Caught Billarys speech. She left Obama to gather her supporters, if he can. Politics, such a lovely blood sport.

Noticed that Pokerworks,, has started a bi-weekly H.O.R.S.E. tournament. Sundays, on Poker Stars, $5.50, with results posted here:

The tournament is usually advertised on Linda’s site (Table-Tango), link left “Linda.” The surprising thing about it? It is a LIMIT tourney. Starting chips are the standard PS T$1500. I did drift by and noticed several Pokerworks forum commenter’s were present; as well as a couple of the Pokerworks writers.

I haven’t played Limit anything for quite some time and the quality of the attending players seemed good – barring one that caught the deck in his teeth, shame-ing the field. That’s a tongue in cheek statement, people.

I also observed Kat,, has returned from her ’round the world motorcycle tour and was trying to abuse her Friday night Re-buy faithful.

While doing the mid-month shopping this past Monday I was forced to ask myself why: the least well attired, the least attractive, driving the least well maintained vehicle, is the least patient.

A man, seventy-ish, asked the check out clerk, forty-ish, when is a car not a car.

Clerk: When?

Man: When it turns into a drive way.

A giggle was heard from: The bagger-boy, sixteen-ish and the soccer mom, thirty-one-ish.

I didn’t laugh.

But I did remember the joke.

From the reaches,

About tenwhiskey

User tenwhiskey is also the author of this blog. He currently lives in small town Kansas in a semi-retired condition. His kids are married and gone (thank you). An empty nester. Divorced. Very happy with life as it is. Ten Mile maintains a personal blog here, writing of events as they appear to him; commentary, and opinions abound. He deviates into fiction as the mood strikes and creates flash fiction stories and short stories. He will not warn the reader when he drifts from fact to fiction. He feels adults are, generally, smart enough to figure out which is which. He does, however, attempt to make his fiction sound as true to life as possible. You have been warned. He, as time permits, writes and occasionally sells writing. More often than not he gives it away to various non-paying publishers of Ether Magazines, forums or for entertainment on a wall for in need of a hand friends. He likes candy, pies and a certain amount of strife. In the matter of strife - in his yourth on the farm, he became embroiled in a slinging fight. The fight involved lath as a launcher, fresh cow patties as ammo and it was a six way free for all. A little mud only adds (Umm?) a certain taste to life.
